Is it great responsibility to maintain a fish tank? 10 pts to receive …?
I've been thinking about buying a small glass aquarium a few fish, but I have some questions or concerns. First, how often you have to clean the tank? Secondly, how much half of tank (one smaller to fit 3-5 fish)? 10 points will be awarded to anyone who can help me with that question. If you give me some further advice when about having an aquarium, you may be more likely to receive a better response and will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!
First to your questions: You should clean the tank once a week, usually tank about 30-45 minutes for a smaller tank and a little more time as it in large tanks. As soon as cost, what is really vary depending on the size you want and that varies depending on where you live, but a complete set of basic equipment for 10 gallon Wal-Mart, Petco, PetSmart or similar would be well below $ 100 are some tips: The main advice I can give after holding fishing for more than 30 years before buying a tank, buy a book! It will be worth the money and will be a great resource for years to come. While Internet can also be great for more information, there are also bad information out there on the net, you can not take Internet to the store where you want to buy fish, and you can not ask about the emergency situations when Internet connection goes down or power failure.
I also would suggest you get at least a 10 gallon tank. Menor are available and can be really good, but have very limited options and require more skill and knowledge to keep properly with a 10 gallon and larger. Indeed, the larger the tank, the easier it is for the care and the most tolerant of errors. Invest in trap gravel well. These are just a few dollars, but will make water changes much easier and help you make a much better job of cleaning the tank.
Read, read and read! Read a lot about maintenance of the aquarium, even before buying the tank, let alone his first fish. Books, websites, everything you can. That way you can be sure you are getting the right equipment for your needs and you can read about some of the fish you want to make sure you can care for them properly in your tank and that will hand. Knowledge is power and that is the difference in the success and failure. He has pledged to do weekly water changes. This is probably the most important thing maintain a happy healthy fish aquarium. Hope this helps you decide.
